Today we are going to be showing you how to replace a Ford F-250 – 450 truck seat switch. We will be showing you on this 2008 F-450 and it will be on the passenger side seat. It will be the same for a 2008-2010 F-250, 350, 450 and also the drivers side seat as well. It will be similar on the newer trucks, just a different part number for the seat switch.

To start, we will open the passenger side door as we are replacing the passenger side seat switch. It would be the same if you where replacing the drivers side switch.

With the door open we will first start by removing the seat recline knob / lever. To remove it well grab the end pull outward slightly and slide it to the front of the truck.

Next we can grab a micro fiber cloth and a panel tool or flat screw driver to remove the back bolster / lumbar knob and the seat switch knob.

To remove the bolster knob I find it easier to turn it all the left to the left and then put the micro fiber cloth over the end on the panel tool or flat screw driver and slide it behind the knob. You should be able to pry and pop the knob off.

Once we have the bolster knob removed we can repeat the same steps to remove the seat switch knob. Well slide the panel tool behind the seat switch knob and remove it.

With all of the knobs removed we can now remove the black panel from the seat. To do this we will need to reach in behind the panel and depress the clips on the back side to release it from the seat.

With the clips released we can now slide it towards the front of the truck to remove the pins on the side of the panel towards the recline lever.

Now that we have the black panel removed we can flip it over and spread the four clips to remove the seat switch from the panel.

Once we have the seat switch removed from the panel we can depress the clip that holds the wiring into the switch and remove the old switch.

Next we can unpack our new switch. Make sure you order the correct switch for your vehicle. There are multiple adjustment switches: a 6 way, 10 way and I believe a 12 way switch. Also some switches come with a new seat switch knob and some don’t.

With the new seat switch unpack-aged we can grab our wiring and align the harness and slide it in, you should hear it “click” and lock in. Give it a wiggle to ensure it locks in.

With the wiring reconnected to the new switch we can grab the black panel and clip the new switch into the black panel. You should also be able to hear it click in position.

Now that we have the switch installed into the panel we can align the pins of the panel with the holes in the seat and slide it into position. Once in position we can align the clips and snap it back into position.

Next we can grab the new seat switch knob and align it and clip it onto the new seat switch.

With the seat switch knob installed we can grab the lumbar knob. Inside the lumbar knob there are groves that need to align with the receiving part on the seat. Once aligned we can reinstall the knob.

Once we have the lumbar knob installed we can grab the lever/ knob for the recline function. Well align it and slide it onto the metal arm.

With everything reassembled we can test everything to make sure it functions as it should.

Now that we have tested everything and it works as it should that’s it we have just shown you how to replace a ford truck seat switch 2008-2010 F-250-450
