We are going to be showing you how to replace tail lights for the 2011-2016 Ford super duty. We will be showing you on this 2010 F-450 Super Duty.

We are upgrading these original tail lights as moisture has made its way inside causing the halogen bulbs to fail prematurely. So we are upgrading to an LED tail light.

To start we will need to lower the tail gate so we can get to the bolts.

With the tail gate down we can locate the two 8mm bolts we need to remove. One is at the bottom and one is just above the tail gate strap

Well grab an 8mm socket and ratchet and remove the two 8mm bolts. With the bolts removed we can grab the tail light and pull straight towards the back of the truck and pop it out of the push clips inside the bedside.

Once we have pulled the tail light loose we can undo the wiring that goes to the old tail light.

Once we have the wiring undone we can open the new lights. These lights use a regular halogen bulb for the reverse lights so we are going to swap that out.

We are going to replace it with the AUXITO 912 921 bulb. So well grab the reverse bulb socket and twist it to remove it from the tail light. Then remove the halogen bulb and swap it out for the LED.

Now that we have the LED reverse bulbs installed we can unclip the control box that stops the LED’s from hyper flashing.

Next we can grab a microfiber cloth and an alcohol cleaning pad. Well clean a spot off behind the taillight to mount the box.

With the box mounted we can grab the new tail light and re connect our wiring. Note that the reverse bulb is not at the bottom of the tail light rather than the top like the original.

With our wiring reconnected we can now align the push pins in the bed side and then align it with the 8mm bolts.

Once in position we can start the two 8mm bolts by hand to hold the light in position. Next we can grab the 8mm socket and ratchet and snug the bolts down.

We just want to tighten them enough so the tail light doesn’t rattle.

With the tail light fully installed on the drivers side we can test it to ensure everything works.

We’ll test the running light, brake, turn signal and reverse light. Now that we have confirmed that the driver side works we can repeat the same steps to replace the passenger side tail light.

Once you have replaced the passenger side tail light that’s it we have just shown you how to replace tail lights 2011-2016 Ford super duty.
