Today we are going to be showing you how to replace dually fender marker lights on a ford. This will be the same if you just need to replace a burnt out bulb as well.

We are going to be showing you on this 2008 F-450 truck. On this one a bulb has burned out but they decided to upgrade to an LED marker light with a smoked lens.

To start we are going to do the rear driver’s side as that is the bulb that has burnt out. We need to grab a phillips screw driver and a flat screw driver or a push pin panel tool.

Well remove the top phillips screw that holds the fender liner in. Next we can use the flat screw driver or panel tool and remove the push pin just above the phillips screw.

Next we can grab and pull down the inner fender liner. Once lowered down we can slide one of our hands inside the fender. Well squeeze the tab on the side of this light towards the tire and then push the light towards the back of the truck to pop it loose.

With the light removed from the fender we can turn it so we can get the wiring plug through the metal bracket on the inside of the dually fender.

Next we can grab the light and hold the base, twist it and remove the light exposing the light bulb. With the light removed we can grab the bulb and pull it and remove it from the socket.

If you were just replacing the burnt out bulb you can grab a new 198 bulb and install it. Be sure to wear gloves to protect the bulb from getting the oils from your hands on it as it will shorten the light of the bulb.

For us we are going to unpackage our new LED smoked marker light. With these smoked marker lights there is a sticker to tell you if it is the amber or red marker light.

So well grab one with a red sticker on it as this is the rear dually marker light we are installing.

Well start by installing the wiring into the socket. Some of these LED light are polarity sensitive meaning that they will only work when plugged in the correct way.

So once you have the light plugged in you may want to turn the key On and the lights on. Then check to ensure the light works. If it doesn’t undo the connection, rotate it 180 degrees and reinsert it.

Once we have confirmed the light works we can push the lens onto the bulb socket and twist it to make a water tight seal.

With the lens attached to the base we can stick our arm back inside the dually fender and align the metal bracket with the fender. Bigger cut out to the bigger clip on the metal bracket.

Smaller cut out to the smaller cut out in the fender.

Next we’ll need to make sure the light clips are aligned as well, bigger on the same side and smaller on the smaller side.

Once aligned we can push the metal clip and the light together making sure we hear them click together.

Once clicked together we can now push the fender liner back into the fender and then install the phillips screw and push clip.

Thats it for replacing the rear red marker light now we can move onto replacing the drivers front amber marker light.

For the front marker light we just need to remove the upper push pin. Pull the liner out of the fender.

Next we can still our arm inside the fender. The clip on the front light is on the back side towards the tire.

Well depress the clip and remove the light from the fender. Once removed we can twist the light/ lens off the bulb base.

With the lens removed we can remove the bulb. Once we have the bulb removed we can grab the amber/ yellow stickered new marker light.

We can plug the socket of the light into the bulb base. Once connected we can turn the key ON to ensure the light works.

With the light working we can slide our arm inside the fender and align the metal clip, fender cut out and the new marker light.

Once it’s all aligned we can push the metal clip and the new marker light together making sure that we hear it click together.

Once we have the new marker light installed we can push the inner fender into the fender. Now with the liner in position we can now reinsert the top push pin to hold it.

With the driver’s side done we can repeat the same steps to get the passenger side replaced.

With both sides replaced and tested to make sure all the new marker lights are working, that’s it. We have just shown you how to replace Dually fender marker lights on a Ford.
