Today we will be showing you how to install a dusk to dawn, light control or photo cell into your lighting fixture. We are installing them into a candelabra base or small base light fixture. They do make them in the regular or medium base as well to fit those fixtures.
First start making sure that either the breaker is off to the light switch or that you have the light switch in the off position. Next loosen the nut and removing it and the lighting fixture globe or shade. With the shade removed you can now carefully remove the light bulb or bulbs. Next take your light bulb or bulbs and screw them into the light control. When you have all your light bulbs screwed into the light sensor you can now one by one reinstall them into your lighting fixture. Try and keep the photo cell part of the sensor facing outward away from the light. If your fixture has the bulb socket end towards the ground you can use up to a 60 watt bulb that is the max for that configuration. If the bulb socket end is up towards the sky you can only use up to a 40 watt bulb that is the max for that configuration.
With the light bulbs all reinstalled with the lighting sensors attached we can now reinstall the globe or shade for the lighting fixture and secure the nut that holds it in position. it also might be a good idea to put a switch lock on the switch so it cant be turned off by accident.
With the light globe or shade reinstalled that is it you have just install a dusk to dawn, light control or photo cell into your small or medium base lighting fixture.
